SECOISD DAY. 1. — Handicap Hurdle Kace of 75 soys ; distance, 2\ miles ; over 9 jumps 3ft 9in high ; nomination, 2 soys ; acceptance, 3 soys ; weights to be declated at 8 p.m. on 10 ih March ; ■ acceptances at 10 a.m. on the day of the race. To start at 12 o'clock. . 2. — Hack Hurdle Race, of 10 soys; once i round and a distance ; over 5 jumps 3ft 9in high; post entries; entrances, 1 soy, to be added ; weight to be not under 9 stone ; open to all horseß that have never started of an advertised race, hack races excepted ; jockeys to ride in colours. To start at 12.30 o'clock. 3. — Railway Plate cf 60 soys ; 1£ miles; weight for age; entrance, 3 soys. To start at 1 o'clock. 4. — Wanganui Cup Handicap of 600 says ; second horso to receive 75 soys, third horse to receive 25 soys from the stakes ; nomina tion, 3 soys ; acceptance, 7 soys ; and 5 soys on the night of general entries distance, 2J miles ; winner of any handicap of 300 soys or more, after declaration of weights, to carry 71hs extra ; of two or more of such races, lOlbs extra ; or any euch handicap race of 200 soys to carry 51 bs extra, of two or more such races, Blbs extra; of one or more of such races cf the value of 200 soys, together with the one of 300 soys, 91b extra. To start at 3 30 o'clock. 6. — District Raoe Handicap of 100 soys ; second horse to receive 10 soys from the stakes ; distance, 2 miles ; nomination, 2 soys ; acceptance, 3 soys. Open to all horses owned for six months prior to time of entry by bond fide residents who have been living between the Manawatu and Waingongoro rivers for that time. To start at 4 o'clock. 7. —Consolation Stakes Handicap of 40 soys; for ali beaten horses; 1 mile and a distance ; nomination, 1 soy ; acceptance, 2 soys. To start at 5 o'clock. RULES. No entry will be received for any races except upon this condition — that all disputes, claims, and objections arising out of the racing, shall be decided by a majority of the Stewards present, e-r those whom they may appoint. Their decision upon all points connected with the carrying out of this programme shall be final. AJI entries to be sealed and addressed to the Hon. Secretary, Wanganui ; entrance money enclosed, with ihe name, age at time of entry, pedigree, and, in case of handicaps, performances of the horse, name of the owner, and colours of the rider. Any jockey riding except in the colours entered will be fined 3 soys. When two or more horses start, the property of the same owner, a distinguishing colour must be worn. In all weight-for-age races, the new weight-for-age scale will be adhered to. Any person neglecting or refusing to comply with this rule shall pay a fine of 5 soys to the race fund. All races to be run under the W.J.C. Rules. Horses walking over will only receive half the stakes. Annual Qualification Fee £3 for NonMembers, lor one meeting, £2. No other nominations will be received under any pretence whatever after the time specified for closing. Letters bearing the postmark of the date of entry, and telegrams of the same date, will be received. WANGANUI DERBY of 1884, for three-year-oldß, of 100 soys, added to a sweepstake of 10 soys. Nomination, 2 soys ; acceptance, 3 soys ; and 5 soys at tbe post. Colts, Bst 101 b; fillies and geldings, Bst -51bs- Nominations for above race close on Saturday, the 2nd April, 1881. Weights to be declared on the 4th of January, 1881. Aeceptanceson the 2nd February, 1881, at 9 p.m., and General Entries and Nominations for Handicap Hurdles close on the 25th February, 1881, at 9 p.m., at J. W. Jackson's Pier Hotei.
