BOROUGH ASSESSMENT.

*-T TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —Li the issue of the Herald of Tuesday last there was a paragraph stating that the Bench did wrong in reducing the Assessment on the premises occupied by me in the Avenue from £110 to £100. As my rent is £2 weekly, and the improvements made since would' not certainly bring the value to above £120, I fail to see the justice of the Herald's remarks. The 20 per cent allowance to which I am entitled by law would reduce the valuation for Borough purposes to what the Magistrate placed it at. The Herald's paragraph was quite uncalled for, but I suppose the person who wrote it did not understand the subject. — I am, &c, A. Kohn.
