Passengers — Miss Keith, Mrs Keith and 2 children, and 5 steerage for Greymouth. Juno 13— Wakatn, s.s., 75 tons, Evans, from Wellington. CLEARED. June 12 — Hnia, s.s., 96 tons, Berriman, for Wellington. Passengers— Mesdames Smith and Crawloy and 2 children, Miss Jeffreys, Messrs Bothsun, Thomson, Cotter, Axnp, Howard, Paul, nnd 3 stcorngo. Jnne 12— Manawatn, p.s., 103 tons, Doilo, for Wellington. PROJECTED DEPABTUBES. Wakatu, Xor Nelson, to-morrow. St Kilda, for Westporfc and Groymouth, Wednesday. Bangatira, for Taranaki and Auckland, Wednesday. Murray, for Nelson, at an early date. Osprey, for Kennedy's, every Wednesday. EXPOETS. Per Hnia, for Wellington— 97 hides, F. B. Jackson. Per Manawatn, for Wellington— l 44 pigs, Order. Tbo Manawatn left with a nnraber of passengors for Wellington yesterday morning. Tho Huia arrived at Wellington at an early hour yesterday. The Wakatn arrived from Wellington yesterday morning, with a number of passengers and a large cargo. The St Kilda, Captain Flowerday, sailed from Dunedin on Wedneslay, 9th inst, nt 4 p.m. ; anchored inside the Heads at 6 p.in, and sailed for Oaraaru at midnight, arriving alongside the breakwater at 7.30 on Thursday morning ; loaded flour for Wnnganni and West Coast, and sailed at 4.30 for Lyttelton: sighted Abaroa lislit at 4 o'clock Friday morning ; abreast of Akaroa Heads atS.SOa.m, and arrived alongside Lyttelton wharf at 2 p.m. ; discharged and loaded for Wanganui and West Coast, and sailed at 5.30 p.m., with fresh south-east wind, veering round at 8.30 to north-west, from which quarter it blew with considerable violence for several hours ; oH Kaikotmi at daylight on Saturday morning, sea calm witn a light south-east breeze, changing to northwest at 9.30, and continuing so till noon ; abreast of Terawhiti at 6 p.m. ; stopped engines, the ship being put under foretop-sails, running before a strong south-east wind; passed Eapiti at midnight, the wind chopping round to north-west ; took in canvas, and proceeded under easy ste&m, Djiring the morning watch at 5.45, the gangway, over which two of the crew were heaving ashes from the stoke-hole, come adrift, owing to the vessel rolling heavily, the men being carried away with it ana drifted rapidly astern. The engiues were immediately stopped, a life buoy thrown, aud tho starboard boafe manned and lowered with all haste. Meantime, though the engines were reversed, the men had drifted some considerable distance from the ship, bnt, guided by their cries for assistance, the boat's crew hod little difficulty in ascertaining their whereabouts. Witbin eighteen miuntes from the time the accident occurred, the luckless mariners wore rescued from their unenviable position on the gangway, to wbicb they were found clinging a quarter of a mile from the vessel. Some little time was occupied in picking up the gangway and life buoy. At 6.45 the boat was hoisted on board, and the ship once more proceeded on her way, arriving off the bar at 10 a.m. ; crossed at 12.15, and anchored below tbe Bluff at 1 p.m.
