As we before mentioned, it is the intention of her owners, Messrs; Johnson and Co.'itC*make considerable alterations, to the vessel. All the heavy portion of her machinery has been removed, but the rain of yesterday : considerably-,regarded the. removing' of other por- ■ tions. We are happy to state that, the qteamer • HuiaJ which'went ashore on the Foxton bar, was safely got off from hes .uncomfortable position at 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon. The agent here telegraphed down to the captain to throw overboard the cargo if she would not get off any other way. Fortunately, however, the wind, befijg from the east, did not rise much sea, and Captain Wills by strenu >us exertions, managed to get the steamer off without removing any df the curgo. Captain Rendalj left on Monday night for the accident, but as • the steamer was afloat again at 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon, the chances are that he will arrive in ; time to serher steaming up the river.—New Zealand Times, Wednesday. - V
