April 17. One thousand people attended the races to-day, including the Governor and suite. Trial Stakes, l£ miles, weight for age. Isaac Walton, 3 years,. Ist ; May Moon, 4 years, 2nd ; Polly Plum, aged, 3rd. Seven started. May Moon led to within 50 yards of chain, when Isaac was let out and won easily. Tradesmen's Plate, won by Perfume; Polly Plum, 2nd ; Labelle, 3rd. Perfume won easily. Hurdle Race, 2 miles. Perfump, Ist ; Mystery, 2nd ; Gladstone, 3rd. Df.ceptioii and Medea also started. Perfume took kindly to the timber and scored a clever win. Easter Handicap, l£ miles. Isaac Walton, Ist; Bedouin, 2nd; May Moon, 3rd; Eclipse, Belle, and Deception also started. Good race ; won by hall: a length. Brown, clerk of the course, was thrown from his horse and had a narrow escape. Arrived— Barracouta from Fiji.
