AUCKLAND.
Oct. 21. Father Hickey, who visited the colony six years ago collecting subscriptions for churches in Ireland, is expected to be Croke's successor in the Catholic Bishopric of Auckland. Alterations to steamer Wellington completed. Cost, about £6,000. The vessel is expected to attain a speed of twelve knots. She has been finished in a very superior style. Kirby has been committed for trial on a charge of indecent assault.
