PORT CHALMERS.
Oct3. Immigration to 30th Sept. from the United States amounted to 4,496 souls ; from Australia, 492, and from Africa, 1. Total, 4,989. Emigration from the port for the same period was 667, leaving a net increase of of 4,322 souls. 127 of the emigrants were to neighbouring Provinces. The immigrant ship ' Christian McAusland ' has not yet got in.
