FOXTON.

March 10. George Mathieson was found dead. He had been drinking for several days at the Sandon Hotel. He left with some others to work on the FoxtoD road, and was last seen alive on the 9th February. The inquest was held yesterday, before the Coroner, Dr Rocksterow ; verdict — found dead. Cause unknown. The ' Napier ' came alongside the wharf. She brings two pure-bred cows, the property of Mr Gower, Carnarvon. The 'Napier ' had sufficient water to come in safe. She had six feet six inches on the bar when last going out. The neglect in trimming the vessel caused all the talk that has been about the bar.
