Government Prize Firing .-detailed note of the scores of‘No. 3 artd 4 "Companies Volunteers will be foiind elsewhere. The Militia, Cavalry, and some of the Volunteers, fired yesterday. The highest scores are.—Private J. Kells, fVM. 21 points; Ensign McGregor, No. 4 W.V., Sergeant J. Rees, W.M. 19 each; Paymaster C. Broughton - , W.M., and Trooper G.'Roberts, 18 each. ; Eighteen fired, average 12;94 points per man. The i firing iu this district will be finished on Monday next. r: District Court,— This Court was opened , yesterday, Robt. Hurt, Esq. presiding.. Whitaker was tried for stealing 200 sovereigns and ! other property from IVaXtet Redpath, but was tound not guilty., The particulars of the case I will be given next week.
