I . TO THE Reading Portion Of the Community in the District of Wanganui. THE great success which has' attended the establishment of Book Clubs in England, as well as in the Colonies, has induced the advertiser to make an attempt to supply a want which- must have been long felt by the inhabitants of Wanganui, arising from the difficulty or impossibility of meeting with'a supply of good and readable books. There is now an opportunity of obtaining a constant- supply of. the best literature of the day, at a price which » must at once place it within tlie'reach of all; and to those who are desirous of securing the same their attention is directed to the following particulars. . Subscribers are .supplied throughout.the year . ,witli\ a • 'Fresh book every fourteen days
by paying 12s. 6(1 • Whenever a certain number of Books have been read by the Subscribers, they will be sold by auction amongst them without any reserve, and a fresh lot substituted in .their place. This affords an opportunity to siibscribers of purchasing at a low rate, the best standard Books of our day. The advantages of this to /Subscribers over the Circulating Library system must be at once apparent, as in the latter case, the same books frequently remain on the shelves for years—there being no outlet beie for old Books, so that they become dead stock to the owner who is gene-
rally unwilling on this account'to keep pace with the day. The first lot of Books on the plan mentioned are now being issued, and as orders will be forwarded to England for an increased supply by next mail, fresh (Subscribers are invited. 11.
