Bread, 4 lb. loaf, Is. 2d, butter fresh, Is. per lb., eggs, Is 3d per doz, cheese, Is to Is 4d per lb, lard lOd to Is per lb, beef, 4d to 7d, mutton, 4d to 7, veal, 7d to 9d, pork, 8d to 9d, bacon, Is to Is 2d, hams, 3s 3d, candles, home-made, lOd, potatoes, old £5 per ton, new, 4d per lb, cabbages, each, 2d. fowls per pair, 4s*to ss, ducks, 6s, turkeys, 7s, to Bs, onions per lb. 4d.— Nelson Examiner , Sydney Mrkets— Feb. 15. The flour market is firmer. A small cargo from Chili has been quitted at <£l9 ; the mill prices are only <£2o per ton for firsts. All kinds of grain are very dull; wheat has been sold at 8s 6d per bushel for prime Adelaide. Bread, 2 lb-loaf, s|d, beef per lb, 2|d, mutton, 4|d, butter per lb, Is, cheese, Bd, bacon, 9d. Teas have slightly receded, owing to heavy shipments. Sugars are a shade firmer, llice remains quiet at £l9 per ton. Coffee slow of sale, though prices are firm. Candles are firmer, but stocks are heavy, Salt remains firm at high rates. We look for a slight advance in the flcur market, owing in some measure, to the disas* trous floods throughout the wheat-growing districts. The cargo of the Chatillon at Melbourne, from California, lias been quitted at 7s 6d. It is understood -to be on Sydney account. — lEmpire, February 15. Melbourne Markets — Feb. 15. Four is easier. "Wheat, 7s 3d per bushel. The arrivals of California grain, and the advices from that quarter, have seriously affected holders. Adelaide Markets— Feb. 16. Flour to-day £l6, wheat, 6s 7d in town, and 7s at the port. LONDON WOOL BEPOET, Dec. 17, 1859. The fourth and concluding series of colonial sales commenced on the 10th November and closed on the 3rd December. The quantities comprised in catalogues consisted of 10,985 bales Australian; 7,161 bales Port Phillip; 2,561 bales Yan Diemen’s Land; 1,680 bales Adelaide: 4,635 bales New Zealand; and 20,096 bales Capa; total, 47,118 bales. The anticipation generally entertained prior to the sales that an advance would be established at the opening of about Id. to l|d failed of realisation ; the absence of foreign buyers in any number and their activity caused our own buyers to act with caution. Even under these cireumstances, however, prices ranged on the average about gd to Id advance. As soon as immediate requirements were supplied, a slight tendency for lower priees became apparent; holders, however, met the market freely. As the sales peogressed the advance was lost, and, indeed, during some part of the sules—about the middle...faulty and uneven. parcels sold at a shade lower than last sales. New Zealand. —Superior flocks in best condition, Is lid, to 2s 3d; average to good in fair condition, Is 8d to Is lid; ordinary and ill-conditioned, Is 6d to Is 8d; scoured, Is 7d to 2s 3d; scoured lambs’, 2sto 2s 4£d, sair and hand-washed skins, Is 4d to Is 9d; inferior, Is to 1 4d; lambs,’ good, Is 9d to 2s Id; lambs’ inferior to average Is 6d to Is 9d; broken locks, sc., Is to Is 6id; in grease, lid to Is sd. CANTERBUBY. Horse and Cattle Market. March 3. Cows (two) sold for £7 10s. and £l2. Ten horses realised from £l7 to £55, and averaged £35 per head in the aggregate. — Canterbury Standard. AUCKLAND Horse and Cattle Mctrkel, March 1. Fat cattle were in request and sold readily, those of best quality realised 50s. the 100 lbs. 40 head were driven in and all sold, those brought from New Plymouth, realised respectively £23, £22 2s. 6d., 3 at £l9 Bs., and one at £l9. 9 fat Calves sold from 2is. sd. to 465. each. 25 Store Cows averaged £5 12s. A pen of six eighteen, months old
Steei’3, <£s 12s. Gd., and one of nine two 1 year olds, £7 73. Gd. each. Calves and Yearling’s from 80s. to 60s. each.
