OVER £574 RAISED . YESTERDAY ZONE FIVE’S PATRIOTIC EFFORT. WINNERS OF RAFFLES. Great success attended Zone s’s Patriotic Fund efforts yesterday, when the sum of £574 13s was raised for patriotic funds. The shop next week is in charge of Zone 16 (Taueru, Te Orc Ore, Ngahapi, Ngaumu, Westmere and Te Parae). There will be an unusually good supply of cakes, and there will also be plum puddings and poultry. There is a filled ■ sponge cake , competition, for which it is hoped there will be many entries. There arc good money prizes.
One of last week's women customers (a Maori) who bought several costumes from the jumble stall is notified that she left behind the skirt of one of these costumes.. This may be obtained from Mr Betts’s office. Mrs Free wishes to thank all who worked so hard for the success of the shop day and shopkeepers who allowed raffles to be displayed in their windows and sold tickets.
