Carter’s Home: The Mayor, Councillors C. J. DeLacey, H. Mortenson, and E. Rayner. Baths: Councillors W. A. Hart, F. B. Knutson, C. J. Churchouse, and AV. S. Steven. ' Library: Councillors AV. Steven and H. E. Jackson. Band: Councillors C. J. DeLacey and W. A. Hart. Reserves and Cemetery: Councillors E. Rayner, H. E. Jackson; R. P. Wakelin and AV. Steven. Fire Board: Councillors R. P. AVakelin and C. J. Churchouse. Hall: Councillors H. Mortenson, C. J. DeLacey, F. B. Knutson and W. S. Steven. FOUND DEAD IN BED AVELL KNOWN EX-SOLDIER. Mr James Lane Davey, who resided in Kent Street and was a returned soldier of the 1914-18 war, was found dead in bed by.Mr F. Yule. Mr Davey had collected his paper and had evidently been reading it when he died. SUDDEN DEATH OF WELL KNOWN RESIDENT. The death occurred suddenly in Carterton last night of Mrs Davidson, of Moreton Road. The late Mrs Davidson was well known in the AVairarapa and along with her husband and family lived at Martinborough for some years, afterwards coming to Carterton Her husband predeceased her about 7 years ago. She leaves eight daughters and two sons. Mr V. Davidson, of South Carterton, who was badly wounded in the 1914-18 Avar, is a son, and Mr J. C. Chapman, of Pembroke Street, is a brother. i Personal Items. The funeral of the late Mrs Mary Ann Teal yesterday was well attended. Many beautiful floral wreaths covered the casket, testifying to the high esteem in which she was held. The Rev. W. F. Stent conducted the services, at the home and the graveside. 'The pallbearers were Messrs C. K. Goodin, J. Freddy, R. Foss and C. J. DeLacey. Boy Scout Dance. At the dance held by the Carterton Boy Scout Committee, the music was played by Mr T. Udy’s Orchestra and an extra was contributed by Corpl. Drysdale. A Monte Carlo waltz was won by Miss Waterson and Mr Crode, and a novelty dance by Mr Halsey Robinson and his sister. Supper was presided over by a ladies’ committee. REGENT THEATRE -MEN AVITH AVINGS.” Tonight’s programme will be headed by the thrilling drama. “Men With Wings,” in which the chief roles arc taken by Ray Milland and Louise Campbell. Another excellent picture is the comedy, “Sleepy Time Gal,” with Judy Canova and Billy Gilbert in the principal characters.
