MAGISTRATE’S COURT

FORTNIGHTLY MASTERTON SITTING.

ACCUSED GRANTED PROBATION ON THEFT CHARGE.

The fortnightly sitting of the Masterton Magistrate’s Court was held today. Mr H. P. Lawry, S.M., was on the Bench. Gerald S. F. Lackner was convicted and admitted to probation for two years on a charge of having stolen a pocket watch. He was ordered to make restitution of the cost of a watch chain.

Ben Lai was fined £1 10s and 10s costs for having failed to give way to a vehicle on his right. Annie Lillian M. Schultz was fined £2 and 10s costs for having left an essential industry without the prior consent of the District Manpower Officer.
