FAT CATTLE PRICES DOWN
AT ADDINGTON SALE YESTERDAY INCREASE IN PORK VALUES (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, May 24. At the Addington market today, in the fat cattle section the bulk of entry comprised unfinished steers and cows and all classes showed a slight decline. No change in prices occurred for fat sheep and with a small yarding in the pork section prices showed a rise. The store sheep sale was again firm throughout, the recent good prices being maintained.
Values over the main part of the sale did not vary much' for the reduced proportion of good steers, but in the final stages these showed a drop of up to 20s a head, other classes being easier by 15s a head. On the average good quality was down by 10s to 15s a head.
