LOCAL BODY CONTESTS WAIRARAPA DISTRICT. ISSUES BEFORE ELECTORS. Voting will take place throughout the Wairarapa on Saturday to elect district local body, representatives. The hours of polling will be 9 a.m, to 6 p.m. Although many country seats and a few borough seats have been filled without the necessity of an election, a poll will be required throughout the Wairarapa district from the Hawke’s Bay boundary to Palliser Bay to elect two district representative on the ,Welrarapa Harbour Board, for which there are three candidates. Contests for county seats are as low:--Featherston: Western Lake Riding, two candidates for one riding. Wairarapa Catchment Board, three candidates for two vacancies. Wairarapa South: Belvedere Riding, three candidates for two vacancies. Maungaraki Riding, five candidates for four vacancies. Wairarapa Catchment Board, three candidates for two vacancies. Masterton: Wainuioru Riding, two candidates for one vacancy. Eketahuna: East Riding, four candidates for three vacancies. West Riding, eight candidates for four vacancies. Tararua Power Board, seven candidates fof three vacancies. FoA the South Wairarapa River Board there are ten candidates for seven vacancies. Borough contests are as follow:— Masterton: Mayoralty, two candidates. Council, 25 candidates for eleven vacancies. Wairarapa Hospital Board, five candidates for three vacancies. Wairarapa Catchment Board, three candidates for 1 two vacancies. Carterton: . Mayoralty, two candidates. Council, 17 candidates for nine vacancies. Greytovzn: Council, 16 candidates for nine vacancies. Featherston: Council, 12 candidates for nine vacancies. Martinborough Council, 13 candidates for nine vacancies. Wairarapa Power Board, two candidates for one vacancy. Eketahuna: Mayoralty, two candidates. Council, 13 candidates for six vacancies. Tararua Power Board, two candidates for one vacancy.
