STATE THEATRE

“FOREVER AND A DAY” “Forever and a Day” will be finally shown tonight. “WEEKEND IN HAVANA” Bright and colourful entertainment is provded by “Weekend in Havana,” a lavish Technicolour production which will be shown tomorrow night at the State Theatre. It is the story of a shop girl (Alice Faye) who sets out on a holiday pleasure cruise to Havana. Shipwreck is not enough to thwart her, and she has her weekend. It may not have been quite as planned, but it is a glorious weekend which she spends (with John Payne in attendance). Lovely girls, beautiful gowns, songs and humour blend to make a most attractive story, and “Weekend in Havana” can be cordially recommended as one of the brightest and best of films. The supports are entertaining and attractive.
