IN ACTION ON SATURDAY (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 12.20 p.m.) LONDON, May 21. “The Times” aviation writer says a new record in the air offensive from Britain was established yesterday, when nearly 5000 bombers and fighters, over 4000 of which were sent out by the Ailed Expeditionary Air Force, maintained a dawn to dusk series of attacks against enemy targets in France and Belgium. In their most intensive attack yet on transport and other targets in Germany, France, Belgium and Allied fighters and fighter-bombers left their targets a shambles. Rail, road and river communications, electric power lines, airfields and factories were attacked. There was no fighter opposition. Altogether. 55 aircraft are missing. During the day at least 20 enemy aircraft were shot down and scores more destroyed on the ground.
