NAZI TACTICS

ON EVE OF INVASION OF EUROPE ATTEMPTS TO TRICK PATRIOTS. INTO PREMATURE ACTION. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) NEW YORK, May 7. The Nazis are attempting to trick the Allied underground movements in Europe into exposing themselves prematurely before the invasion starts, according to reports from the Office of War Information. The German duplicity includes the issuing of false orders “signed” by General de Gaulle, distributing bogus newspapers, dropping leaflets from planes with R.A.F. markings, beaming broadcasts from “freedom stations,” and giving false invasion dates. Furthermore, Gestapo agents ride incognito on trains and trams, and attempt to lure patriots into political discussions. Other agents masquerade as political agents trying to escape from Germany.
