IN AND OUT SALE
PRICES AT EWE FAIR AT MASTERTON
NO IMPROVEMENT IN VALUES
The Associated Auctioneers’ report as follows on their first ewe fail' at Masterton yesterday: The sale created; wide interest, and there was a very big attendance. Although the West Coast was represented, the usual quota from that district was not present 1 . The sheep were not up to the high standard yarded at our fairs, most lines showing the effects of the poor season. This applied more directly to the two-tooths, most of which were undersized and low in condition. Prices were not consistent, and the sale could be described as very “in' and out.” Good condition early shorn ewes created keen competition, but late shorn sheep, not in condition, but in other respects quite sound met with limited competition. Top prices compared more favourably with last season, but talcing the average right through, there was practically no improvement. The following were the prices:— 2-th ewes: A/c J. W.
