SOUTH FEATHERSTON

EUCHRE PARTY & DANCE WAR SERVICE COMMITTEE. ("Times-Age” Special.) There was a large attendance at the fortnightly euchre, party and dance held in the South. Featherston Hall by the War Service Committee. The music was provided by T. Udy’s Orchestra and much appreciated extras were played by Mrs Fraser and Miss Shona Cross. Mr L. Rasmussen capably carried out the duties of M.C. The Monte Carlo waltzes were won by W. Benton and Miss J. Clark, and C. Buck and Miss V. Foment, The card winners were as follow:— Ladies: Mrs R. Williams, 1; Mesdames Gain and W. Elder, equal, 2. Men: Mr G. Hyland, 1; Mrs R. Simmonds, 2. Supper was served by a ladies’ committee.

A sucking pig was won by Mr Chasland. Personal Items. Mrs F. R. Bladen has returned from a holiday spent at Picton. Mrs Dunstan, of Wellington, is staying with her daughter, Mrs Fraser. Mrs R. Fuge and Miss Betty Fuge are spending a holiday at Lake Ferry. Mrs Wakely has returned after a few days spent at Feilding. Mrs Elliott has returned to Wellington after having been the guest of Mrs Wilton.

Mrs Rasmussen has returned from a holiday spent at Castlepoint. Miss R. Pattie, of Blenheim, is the guest of her sister, Mrs R. J. Yule, South Featherston.
