CARTERTON SALE. LATE RATES MAINTAINED. Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Co.. Ltd., report:—A good yarding of sheep, cattle and pigs came forward at our Carterton sale yesterday, and prices were on a par with late rates. The following are some of the realisations: — Sheep: Fat lambs, 23s to 245; fat wethers, 22s to 24s 6d; fat ewes, 12s 6d to 15s; f. and f. b.f.’s, to 18s; good b.f. rape lambs, to 16s lOd; medium b.f. lambs, 11s to 11s lOd; small b.f. lambs, (is 9d to 9s 6d; cull lambs, 3s to ss; woolly wether lambs, 13s to 15s 9d: shorn wether lambs, 8s 3d to 9s 3d; small shorn w. lambs, to 4s 9d; small shorn ewe lambs, to 6s; m.a. ewes, 14s to 15s; store ewes, 3s 6d to 4s 3d. Cattle: Fat Holstein cows, £7 10s to £9; fat Jersey cows, £5 10s to £6 10s; fat heifers, to £6 6s; vealers, to £4 ss; forward cows, £3 15s to £4 16s; store cows, £2 15s to £3 ss; cows and calves, £4 to £4 15s; bulls, £4 10s to £8 15s. Pigs: Baconers, £3 7s 6d to £4; stores, 35s to £2 ss; slips, 20s to 30s; weaners, good to 16s, medium 13s to 14s, small jOs to 12s.
