The death occurred at Pahiatua yesterday of Mr James Scott, a wellknown resident, at the age of 79 years. At Mangatainoka yes terday, the death occurred of Mr Leslie Alan Webster, at the age of 42 years. Mr .Norman Heath, Consul for Latvia, and probably one of the best known commercial travellers in the Dominion, has died at Auckland. Mr and Mrs B. J. McCracken. Christchurch, have been the guests of Mrs M. McCracken, Essex Street, Masterton. Mrs C. A. Greenwood, of Masterton, has returned home after visiting her mother, Mrs Boustead, Alfredton Road, Eketahuna. Miss Margaret Gaskin, of Masterton, is at present spending her annual vacation with her aunt, Mrs Foster, New Plymouth. The engagement is announced of Ann, only daughter of Mr and Mrs J. W. Mawsan, Wadestown, Wellington, and Graham, only son of Mr and Mrs Kemble Welch. Masterton.
