OBITUARY MRS HANNAH BENNETT. (“Times-Age” Special.) w The death occurred at Hawera recently of Mrs Hannah Bennett, wife of Mr B. C. Bennett. She was born in Greytown and was a daughter of the late Mr and Mrs B. Gallagher. In her early days she was on the staff of the Grey town District High School. Mrs A. G. Rhodes. Greytown, is a sister. Bowling. Last evening Messrs Kilgour and J. Shearer (Masterton Park) played for the Grady Medals against the holders, Messrs N. McLeod and W. Higgiscn. The first part of the game was evenly contested, but the second half saw the holders gain a substantial lead to eventually win. Personal Items. Miss Betty Kiernan is .spending a few days in Wellington. Mr Cranley Brickell returned to Nelson yesterday after having spent the holidays with his parents at Battersea. Mrs R. G. Vile has left on a holiday visit to Wairoa. Mrs C. Grigg Senr., returned to Wellington yesterday. Off to Camp. There was a large gathering.at the Greytown railway station on Wednesday afternoon when many soldiers on leave returned to camp. Mr H. G. barter represented the local branch of the Returned Services’ Association, and extended to the soldiers good wishes for their future. TOWN HALL “TROPIC HOLIDAY.” At the Town Hall tonight there will be shown the brilliant musical comedy, “Tropic Holiday,” in which Dorothy Lainour, Ray Milland, Bob Burns and Binnie Barnes are featured. The associate picture, “The Ghost Breakers,” is a splendid comedy in which the principal parts are taken by Bob Hope and Paulette Goddard.
