AIRMAN MISSING
FLIGHT LIEUTENANT R. J. TAAFE. FORMER RESIDENT OF MASTERTON. Acting Flight Lieutenant. Rae Jcssep Taafe, D.F.M., who is reported missing' on air operations, was born at Wairoa 23 years ago. His parents reside at Hastings, where his father is chief buyer for Thos. Borthwick and Sons in Hawke’s Bay. He formerly resided in Masterton where he was for 4 or 5 years on the local staff of Thos. Borthwick and Sons. At the time he was awarded the D.F.M. he was Sergeant Pilot, and secured rapid promotion.
