FIGURES FOR MASTERTON . AND DISTRICT A substantial decrease in the numbers of deaths and marriages was recorded in Masterton last month, as comnared with December of 1942. The number of births- remained the same. The figures were, those for December, 1942, being given in parentheses: Births, 16 (16); deaths, 3 (16); marriages, 5 (13). The vital statistics for the year showed a falling off, compared with 1942, in the number of births and deaths, but an'increase in marriages, the figures being: Births, 268 (298), deaths, 150 (176), marriages, 129 (108).
