KOPUARANGA
WOMEN’S INSTITUTE COMPETITION WINNERS. (“Times-Age” Special.) The monthly meeting of the Kopuaranga Women's Institute was held yesterday afternoon. In the absence of the president, Mrs C. P. Jarrett presided. The resignation of the treasurer, Mrs J. Brophy, was received with regret. The secretary, Mrs Hewitt, was asked to place on record appreciation of the splendid work carried out by Mrs Brophy during her term of office. .
It was decided to hold a bring and buy afternoon at the September meeting. the proceeds to be allocated to the Makogai Leper Fund.
Mrs Jarrett gave a most interesting and detailed talk on the recent Dominion conference at Gisborne.
Afternoon tea was served by the hostess, Mrs Reside.
Mesdames A. B. and E. C. Cottle organised an amusing competition which was. won by Mrjs Brophy. The monthly competitions resulted: Best bloom, Mrs Jarrett 1, Miss Budd 2. Mrs Clark 3. Face cloth: Mrs Hewitt 1, Miss Budd 2, Mrs Hansen 3.
