COMPETITIONS NIGHT

METHODIST SUNDAY SCHOOL HYMN BOOK AND BIBLE. LIST OF PRIZE-WINNERS. The scholars of the Masterton Methodist Sunday School met in the Methodist Hall last night to compete in a series of items based on their hymn boon, and the Bible. There was a large number of entries, and the programme vas put through smoothly and delighted a good attendance of parents and friends. The competitions were organised by Mrs J. H. Conly, with the assistance of the Sunday School staff. The judges were: Mrs F. J. Gair, L.T.C.L.. and Miss 1. Macßae, M.A.. Dip. Ed. (vocal and elocutionary.); Mr S. B. Maclennan, A.R.C.A. (colouring in): Mr F. G. Rutter (Bible knowledge), and Miss R. Elliott and Miss L. Cocker (tearing out). Mrs D. A. Barns was official accompaniste. Floral sprays were piesented by Miss Audrey Daysh .to the judges, accompaniste and Mrs Conly. The Rev. G. H. Goodman complimented the school on its fine perfotmance, and thanked the judges and all who had contributed to the success of the evening for their assistance. The results were as follow:—Hymn duet.—Girls, senior: Margaret Prout and Nita Hearle 1, June Hayward and Shirley Nicol 2, Audrey Daysh and Mary On Hing 3.
