LATEST OFFICIAL FORECAST COLD AND CHANGEABLE POSSIBLE IMPROVEMENT. The following official weather report and forecast was issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, at noon today:— DISTRICT FORECAST: Fresh to strong southerly winds, decreasing tomorrow. Weather cold and changeable, with further passing showers, but improving tomorrow; Some frosts tonight. FURTHER OUTLOOK: Fair. The Waingawa sub-station, P.W.D., reports as follows for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. today:—Shade” temperature, maximum, 51; minimum, 31; terrestrial, 24; sunshine, 1 hour 36 minutes; rain, 12 points; frost, 6.4 degrees. Mr H. M. Boddington reports that 8 points of rain fell at Solway during the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. today.
