IN THE BAY OF BISCAY. ATTACKED AND DAMAGED BY BEAUFIGHTERS. ' • RUGBY, July 13. Patrolling over the Bay of Biscay yesterday, three Coastal Command Beaufighters sighted a surfaced U-boat and attacked it with cannon and mach-ine-gun fire. One of the pilots, a Fighting Frenchman, saw at least two of the gun crew killed or wounded. Cannon shells from the Beaufighters, striking gun positions and the conning tower, caused' a violent explosion on deck.
