OBITUARY
MR RICHARD KILMISTER. The death occurred this morning of Mr Richard Kilmister, of 95 Bannister Street, Masterton, after a brief illness. Born at Western Hutt in 1857, the second son of Mr and Mrs William Kilmister, he was for forty years in the service of the Railways Department, 10 years at Kaitoke, 20 years at Opaki, and 10 years at Invercargill, retiring in 1917 to reside in Masterton, where he had lived for the past 26 years. Mr Kilmister had been a member of the Druids’ Lodge for 63 years, and of the Park Bowling Club for 20 years. He is survived by a widow, one son, Walter, Colombo Road, and two daughters, Mrs Thorby (Onehunga) and Mrs A. F. Billington (Bannister Street), besides three brothers, Messrs Wijliam (Lower Hutt), Edward James Kilmister (Shannon), and one sister, Mrs Goodin (Carterton). There are three grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren. One son, Thomas, was killed in the Great War, and the youngest son, Percy Valentine, died at Winton 31 years ago. The funeral will take place tomorrow, leaving the late residence, following a service at 2.30 p.m., for the Masterton Cemetery.
