GLADSTONE

WOMEN’S INSTITUTE COMPETITION WINNERS. (“Times-Age” Special.) The Gladstone Women’s Institute held its monthly meeting in the Gladstone Hall when Mrs Cooper presided. Mrs Cooper and Mrs Wellwood were elected delegates to the Council meeting in Carterton. The results of the! potato competition were handed in, Mrs Cave having the highest in-' dividual weight, 451b5., Miss Cooper being second with 341bs. The monthly competitions resulted as follows:—Best bloom: Mrs McKay 1, Mrs Joblin 2. Bottle of plums: Mrs Bradley 1. Afternoon tea was served by Mrs Bradley and her helpers.
