School Break Up. At the annual school break up, held in the local hall, there was a very good attendance of parents and visitors from the surrounding districts. The school children preesnted two plays and Std. 1 boys gave a humorous recitation, the items being excellent. Owing to the absence of both the chairman and secretary of the school committee through illness, Mr M. Robbie presided and was assisted by Mrs Hislop, the school mistress. Dancing and games for the children were indulged in until just before supper, when Mr Robbie presented the school prizes. Leaving certificates were handed to Joan Kitchen, Mervyn Raleigh, Jim Houlbrooke and Denis Duncan. Supper was then handed round by a committee of ladies. Dancing was then carried on until after midnight, the music being supplied by Miss Bissett, Messrs Curtis, Harman and Barker.
