MAGISTRATE’S COURT
MASTERTON SITTING THIS MORNING. A LIGHT LIST. Mr H. P. Lawry, S.M., presided pver the fortnightly session of the Masterton Magistrate’s Court this morning. Francis C. Holmes was fined 10s with 10s costs for having deposited rubbish in the Waipoua River. Mr H. McKenzie Douglas, who appeared for the Borough Council, said that the Council had been put to expense and trouble by people placing rubbish in the Waipoua River. The case was brought, he said, as a warning to others. 1 R. J .Reeves was fined £1 and 10s costs for having ridden a motor cycle in the Central Arcade. CIVIL BUSINESS. Judgment for plaintiff by default was given in the following undefended civil claims:— Wairarapa Electric Power Board v. Frank M. Rogers, claim £2, costs £1 13s 6d; Lyttle and Co. v. K. L. Clarke, claim £7 18s Id, costs £1 10s 6d; same v. Robert C. Baikie, claim £3 0s 6d, costs £1 4s 6d; Kerslake and Co. v. R. C. Baikie, claim £2 17s 9d, costs £1 4s 6d; Hyde’s Funeral Services, Ltd., v. H. Hills', claim £5 9s, costs £1 4s 6d.
