WOMEN’S INSTITUTE

MEETING AT HASTWELL. (“Times-Age” Special.) At the monthly meeting of the Hastwell Women’s Institute, Mrs K. Ngatuere presided over a good attendance of members. A letter was read from Pte. E. Sigvertsen thanking the Institute for a parcel, of knitted articles which had beeen received by him. The competitions which were judged by Miss O. Halberg, Miss A. Dick and Miss E. Larsen,'resulted as follows: — Seniors: Something new from something old: Miss A. Dick, 1; Mrs Madsen, 2; Mrs Claude Seymour, 3. Juniors: Best tray cloth: Miss E. Larsen, 1; Miss P. Manihera, 2; Miss E. Dick, 3. Best flower: Miss H. Madsen, 1; Miss I. Madsen, 2; Miss O. Halberg, 3. A game competition was won by Claude Seymour, and a parcel fund competition by Mrs Dick. The motto was given by Miss O. Halberg. The hostesses, Mrs Dick and Miss E. Dick, served afternoon tea.
