HASTWELLS

WOMEN’S INSTITUTE MONTHLY MEETING OF MEMBERS. (“Times-Age” Special.) At the meeting of the Hastwells Women’s Institute, Mrs Dick presided over a fair attendance of members. An interesting address was delivered by Mrs Claud Seymour on fashions between 1840 and 1940. The competitions for the month resulted as follows: —Senior: Sultana cake, Mrs Madsen 1, Miss H. Madsen 2, Miss O. Halberg 3. Junior: Miss E. Dick 1, Miss 1. Madsen 2, Miss E. Larsen 3. A game competition, which was conducted by Mrs and the Misses Madsen, was won by Miss O. Halberg, Mrs Dick and Miss E. Dick being second and Miss A. Dick and Miss E. Larsen third. The motto for the month was read by Miss A. Dick. Miss I. Madsen sang a solo which was very much appreciated by all. Mesdames Morriss and Claud Seymour were thanked for having judged the competitions. ■
