STOCK MARKET

SALE AT ADDINGTON LATE RATES MAINTAINED. KEEN DEMAND FOR FAT SHEEP. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, July 8. The Addington market was firm and the prices ruling at last week’s market were fully maintained today. Competition for all lines of sheep was keen and prices comparaeively high. The fat sheep entry was not as big as last week and the demand was very keen, specially for wethers, which, on the whole, were not up to the quality of a week ago, but nevertheless sold readily at an advance of about Is a head. One truck of 44 twotooths sold from 41s 4d to 50s 7d. There were numerous other sales between these figures. The fat cattle market in the early stages was a little firmer than the average a week ago, but soon settled down to last week’s parity, at which the demand was very firm. The porker entry was larger than last week and excellent prices again obtained for best quality types, but unfinished pigs were easier by 6s to 7s a head. PAHIATUA SALE VALUES REMAIN FIRM.
