HAWAIIAN CURRENCY

SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS TAKEN. (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) WASHINGTON, July 8. The Treasury announced special currency for use only in Hawaii and for which all United States currency with Hawaii must be exchanged by July 15. This measure is taken to protect Hawaiian citizens and apparently means that should Hawaii fall to the Japanese, its money would not be useable. Also, it would be impossible for the Japanese to use in Hawaii American dollars captured elsewhere.
