POWER OF COMPULSION TAKEN IN CANADA. USE ONLY WHEN NECESSARY. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 10.40 a.m.) RUGBY, July 8. The Canadian House of Commons has given a second reading to the Mobilisation Bill Amendment, permitting conscription for overseas service. The Prime Minister (Mr Mackenzie King) said conscription would be applied only when necessary, and before it was applied he would seek a vote of confidence.
