REGENT THEATRE
“FIREFLY.” Romance, stirring action, and melody are skilfully blended in the stoiy of “The Firefly,” which will be shown at the Regent Theatre tonight. Although not a new production, this picture is one which, because of ns quality, has an enduring appeal. The plot is worked out against a background of the Franco-Spanish war m the time of Napoleon. Jeanette MacDonald and Allan Jones, two stars with golden voices, are the featured players. The story is good, but it is chiefly foi such melodious numbers as “The Donkey’s Serenade,” “Sympathy,” and “Giannina Mia” that. “The Firefly” is remembered. There is a good supporting programme.
