FEW SHIPS LOST
FROM BRITISH CONVOY ENORMOUS TOLL TAKEN OF AXIS MERCHANTMEN. STATEMENT IN WASHINGTON. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) WASHINGTON, July 7. General Gordon Macready, Chief of the British Army Staff in Washington, stated that less than one of every 200 convoyed British ships has been sunk, while the British Navy has destroyed 5,250,000 tons of enemy merchantmen.
