CAPTURE OF FORTS

CLAIMED BY GERMAN SPOKESMAN. ALL EXCEPT ONE ON NORTHERN SECTOR. (Received This Day, 9.30 a.m.) LONDON, June 22. The Berlin radio, quoting a High Command spokesman, claims that the Axis forces have captured all the Sebastopol forts including the Lenin, Stalin, Maxim Gorki and Molotov forts, except one on the northern sector. FEAR OF SECOND FRONT REASON FOR DELAY IN RUSSIA. LONDON, June 21. The Berlin correspondent of the Swedish newspaper “Dagen Nyheter” says the risk of a second front being opened in France is one reason why the German summer offensive did not materialise in Russia. Other reasons are the heavy losses inflicted in the Russian offensive on the Kharkov front last month and flooding on the southern front.
