VITAL PART OF NAVAL, FORCE. PROPOSALS IN UNITED STATES. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) NEW YORK, June 20. The Naval Committee of the Senate advanced a proposal to make every warship and unit of the fleet from destroyer to battleship into a carrier for fighting planes, says the Washington correspondent of the Associated Press of America. Senator Gillette said he was hopeful that immediate attention would be given to supplementing carrier strength by combining units for offence and defence as air complements in all warships large enough to accommodate them.
