TURF NOTES SEGRA DESTROYED. Segra. the Siegfried-Polly Peachum gelding broke a shoulder at Awapuni on Monday and had to be destroyed. He was jumping the schooling hurdles in company with Colossal Chief but at one he took off too soon, crashing through it. MANAWATU MEETING. TO BE HELD ON SATURDAY. The Manawatu Racing Club will hold its winter meeting this month commencing on Saturday and continuing on the following Saturday (June 27). Excellent fields are assured and judging by the type of horse which will go to the post the racing should be of an exciting character. The club is noted for the excellent manner in which its meetings are conducted at the Awapuni racecourse, the comfort, convenience and enjoyment of its patrons always being the first consideration. RUAHINE HANDICAP DIVISIONS. The Ruahine Handicap field for the Mannwatu meeting has been divided and each division will be run as a separate race, the first being the second on the programme and the second the sixth.
