GLADSTONE

WOMEN’S INSTITUTE MONTHLY MEETING OF MEMBERS. (“Times-Age” Special.) At the monthly meeting of the Gladstone Women’s Institute, there was a good attendance. Miss A. Bubb presided owing to the unavoidable absence of Mrs Joblin. Members engaged in making papier mache splints. At the conclusion of the meeting five, dozen splints and three bowls were ready for drying. A stall was held to raise funds to buy the paint and varnish for Red Cross work. In response to an appeal a number of files and rasps were handed in. Members are asked to bring old rubber and waste paper to the next meeting. The bloom competition was won by Miss A. Bubb. Miss C. Cooper and assistants served afternoon tea, which was much appreciated.
