LATEST OFFICIAL FORECAST FAIR TO FINE. SOME FROSTS TONIGHT. The following official weather report and forecast was issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, at noon today:— DISTRICT FORECAST: Moderate winds from easterly quarter. Some morning low cloud and drizzle, chiefly on coast. Weather otherwise fair. Temperatures cool with some frosts tonight. FURTHER OUTLOOK: Fair to fine. LOCAL REPORT. Mr H. M. Boddington reports that 7 points of rain fell at Solway during the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. yesterday, and 4 points for a similar period today. Mr N. W. Towns reports as follows for the 24 hours ended 8 a.m. yesterday:—Barograph, 30.72; shade temperature, maximum 58.8, minimum 33.7; terrestrial, 29.5; sunshine, 6 hours; rain, 5 points; frost, .9 degrees. Mr Towns reports as follows for the 24 hours ended 8 a.m. today:—Barograph, 30.75; shade temperature, maximum 48.3, minimum 33,9; terrestrial, 28.1; sunshine, 2 hours 6 minutes; rain, 4 points; frost, 2.3 degrees.
