WOMEN’S INSTITUTE

KAITUNA-FERNRIDGE MEETING. PATRIOTIC ACTIVITIES. (“Times-Age” Special.) The monthly meeting of the KaitunaFernridge Women’s Institute was held at the home of Mrs O. Wyeth, Mrs Keir presiding over a fair attendance of members. Members spent the afternoon in making articles ready to be enclosed in hussifs. Two air force pullovers were handed in, having been knitted from wool supplied by the Red Cross Society. A dressed goose donated by Mrs H. Dagg, and won by Mrs Pringle realised the sum of 16s which is to be handed over to the Patriotic Fund. Mrs Keir Senr. and Mrs O. Wyeth tied for first place in the flower competition, with Mrs G. Laing third. Af _ ternoon tea was handed round by the hostess, Mrs Wyeth, assisted by Miss P. Welch.
