LANSDOWNE SCHOOL

MEETING OF COMMITTEE. The monthly meeting of the Lansdowne School Committee was held last evening. There were present: M.essVs A. V. Faulknor (chairman), Dagg, Baker, Mackay, Donovan, McGregor, Peters, Jarvis, and the headmaster, Mr J. W. T. Jones. An apology for absence was received from Mr C. K. Long. Accounts amounting to £4 7s 6d were passed. The headmaster’s report stated that the present roll was 250. Several children were absent with influenza. During the month the gardens in front of the school had been replanted,- and hedges trimmed and replaced where necessary. The children had been invited to collect waste pater, and a steady supply was being received. During the season the children collected three pounds of ergot. The children were raising onion plants for distribution among the pupils of the school.
