STILL IDLE

LIVERPOOL STATE MINE. TROUBLE OVER CONDITION OF RAILWAY. (By Tele^ranh—Press Association.) . GREYMOUTH, This Day. The Li’-erpool State Mine, which was to have resumed today after being idle since April 7 on account of extensive slips on the railway line between Dunollie and Rewanui, did not resume. The Railways Department decided that the line might be open in daytime, but that no trains should be run during darkness, because of the danger of further slips. Miners on late shift would thus have to walk from Dunollie to Rewanui, a distance of three miles. The miners decided at a meeting this morning that if the line were not safe at night for trains, then it was not safe in the daytime. The men returned home.
