MAURICEVILLE WEST
PICNIC AT SCHOOL AN ENJOYABLE GATHERING. (“Times-Age” Special.) A picnic was held recently at the Mauriceville West School grounds. Parents and friends were well represented and helped to make the day a happy one. Races and games were held after lunch followed by the annual prize-giving. Father Christmas presented each small child with a gift from a Christmas tree. The may pole and folk dances given by the children added a festive air to the party. These were followed by choir and band items. Afternoon tea was served, after which a small gift was presented to Mr and Mrs King by William Lehmstedt on behalf of the pupils. Personal Items. Mr and Mrs C. Fretchling. Brooklyn, who have been the guests of Mr and Mrs W. H. Bird, have returned home. Mr and Mrs S. King, who have been spending a holiday in Lower Hutt, have returned home.
